Do you want to sponsor Kabbalat Shabbat…

Sponsorship is $54 and is fully tax-deductible. All proceeds directly benefit the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School.

Each Friday at the Day School, the Lower School welcomes Shabbat with joy and thanks at our Kabbalat Shabbat program. In addition to student presentations, community Rabbis, Cantors, and Song Leaders often join in leading the celebration.

Every child in the lower school has the opportunity to lead the blessings as Abba or Ima at Kabbalat Shabbat at least one time during the school year. Parents and guests are encouraged to share this special time. Kabbalat Shabbat is at 11:25am during Daylight Savings Time and at 11:00 am during Central Standard Time (winter). In keeping with school guidelines, we ask that men wear kippot during the program and lunch and that all guests dress modestly, as students have a special dress code on Fridays.

Families and community members can honor a friend or family member by sponsoring a Kabbalat Shabbat. The honoree receives special recognition at Kabbalat Shabbat and a challah and flowers for their Shabbat table.
